Dry Spiced Cabbage

Great Accompaniment For Rice!
When I find less time in the kitchen, I make this healthy dish. My family likes this dish very much. The lemon juice and coriander leaves give it a fresh taste. Thank you Mrs. Meena Pathak for sharing this healthy dish.
Ingredients

Grated cabbage – 3 cups

Grated carrot – 1/2 cup

Grated ginger – 1.5 teaspoons

Mustard seeds (kadugu) – 1/2 teaspoon

Cumin seeds (seeragam) – 1/2 teaspoon

Asafoetida (perungayam) – 1/4 teaspoon

Turmeric powder – 1/2 teaspoon

Curry leaves – 5 to 6 nos.

Chopped green chilli – 1 no.

Chopped red chilli – 1 no.

Sugar – 1 teaspoon

Lemon juice – 1/2 no.

Coriander leaves – for garnishing

Salt – as desired

Oil – 1.5 tablespoons

Preparation

1. In a pan, heat oil. Add mustard seeds and cumin seeds. When the seeds pop out, add asafoetida, turmeric powder, curry leaves, ginger, green chilli, and red chilli.

2. Now, add the grated cabbage and carrot.

3. Reduce the heat, cover the pan, and cook for 15-20 minutes. Add the sugar and salt. Finally, sprinkle coriander leaves and lemon juice.

Now, the Dry Spiced Cabbage is ready!

Serve. Accompaniment for rice items(KUZHAMBU, SAMBAR & RASAM)
