Brussel Sprouts Fry

A simple, healthy and easy stir fry that you can make in a jiffy!

Serves. 3


Brussel sprouts – 2 cups
Turmeric powder (manjal thool) – 1/2 teaspoon
Chilli powder (milaga thool) – 2 teaspoons (you can add more chilli powder to make the dish spicy)
Salt – as desired
Oil – 2 teaspoons

Note. The ingredients shown will vary with the original quantity.


Remove the outer covering of the brussel sprouts. Cut each sprout into 2 to 4 pieces. In a pan, heat 2 teaspoons of oil, and add the cut brussel sprouts. Fry for 5 minutes and then add 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder. Saute for 3 minutes. Now add chilli powder followed by salt, and stir fry for 5 to 6 minutes. When brussel sprouts become soft, switch off the stove.


  • You can season with mustard seeds, urad dal and asafoetida but I have not used any of these.

Now, Brussel Sprouts is ready to be served.

Serve. With Kuzhambu, Rasam, and Curd Rice.
