Vazhaikkai Fry
A tasty and spicy fry!
In no time, you can cook this fry. It just takes a matter of few minutes. My family and friends’ kids just love this. How much ever you have, this Plantain Fry will not be enough. I make it using potatoes, yam, colocasia(seppa kizhangu) etc.
Sometimes I use a pinch of color depending on my mood. Kids generally love this fry a lot. If I have a large number of guests, then I choose plantain poriyal because this fry will never be enough. Give it a try and you’ll know.

Ingredients

Plantain – 1 no.
Chilli powder – 2 teaspoon
Turmeric powder – 1/2 teaspoon
Color powder – a pinch (Optional)
Oil – 3 tablespoon
Salt – as desired

Note. The ingredients shown will vary with the original quantity.

Preparation

Remove the skin of plantain. Cut them in 1/4 inch thick round pieces. Marinade plantain using chilli powder, turmeric powder, color powder(make a paste using 1 teaspoon water), and salt. Sprinkle little water. In a pan, heat oil. Put the plantain pieces and fry on either sides in medium flame until the plantain becomes soft.

Now, Plantain Fry is ready!!!

  • You can also try the same recipe with yam and potato.
