I was longing to make Chocolate Mousse for a long time. My friend Manisha makes it quite often. We used to meet in Gymboree and discuss about food and recipes. Though I have heard about Chocolate Mousse, I never had an opportunity to try it.
Manisha makes tasty Chocolate Mousse and serves it in a chocolate cup for her guests. I am yet to try the chocolate cup too. Will try it soon and post it here. Gj is not fond of sweets or desserts. Whenever I ask him if I can make Chocolate Mousse, he would say, “Nithi, why don’t you try something that is less in calories and also healthy?”. My reaction would be, “okay…I will come up with something.” This time I came up with something very easy to make and also very heathy too. I made it for Sanvi as it had Avocado and Chocolate in it. Sanvi loved it. These days, she asks me to make Mousse almost every day. Initially, I gave everyday but nowadays I am giving her once in three days. Though I am happy that it has avocado and less sweet in it, still I don’t want her to come to a conclusion that chocolates are healthy. It just takes 5 minutes to make this mousse, why should you wait? Try it out and fall in love with it.

Semisweet Chocolate – 2 oz
Coconut Oil – 1 tablespoon
Agave Nectar – 2 tablespoon
Kosher or Sea Salt – 1/8 teaspoon
Unsweetened Cocoa Powder – 1 tablespoon
Avocados (very ripe, peeled and pitted) – 2 nos.
1. In a microwave-safe bowl, add semisweet chocolate, coconut oil, agave nectar, salt, and cocoa powder. Microwave for 20-30 seconds. Allow it to cool down completely. Stir well.
You can also do the same procedure in a saucepan on a stove-top. On low heat, just melt the chocolate and combine the ingredients well.
2. In a blender, add avocado chunks and blend it until smooth. Now add the chocolate mixture and blend again until soft peaks form.
Now, Avocado Chocolate Mousse is ready! Refrigerate for at least 1 hour and serve fresh with berries on top.
